Welcome!

Community Birth & Family Center is currently undergoing many changes!
We're delighted this month to announce the appointment of our new Executive Director, Lisa Chin. Lisa comes to us with an outstanding background in leadership, fund development, strategic planning, and non-profit management. Welcome, Lisa!

We do not yet have a confirmed location for our new full-service freestanding birth center. In the meantime, our 12 midwives are continuing to practice around the metropolitan Seattle area, attending births at Seattle Home Maternity Service in Columbia City, as well as other birth centers in the community and at home. Our midwives are skilled in all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth and use gentle birthing methods that help you feel safe and respected during all stages of your pregnancy.

To reach a specific midwifery practice, please click the "Meet Our Midwives" button for a listing.

We're also continuing to offer many postpartum support services. During this interim year, classes and our breastfeeding clinic are being held at our CB&FC Annex, located at 2517 Eastlake Avenue E, Suite 102.

For more information on Classes, click the "Classes and Events" button.
For more information on breastfeeding support please click on the "Breastfeeding Support and Conference" button.

Our additional classes for August 2008 include a Breastfeeding Conference for Doulas on August 22nd, and a CPR Class for Professionals on August 26th - CB&FC will also host a AHA Heartsaver CPR class from 9am-12pm. This course includes infant and child CPR, and the cost is $40. Space is limited, so if you are interested in registering for this class, please contact Barb Orcutt ASAP at cbfcbreastfeeding@gmail.com .

Please browse our site for information on midwifery care, the benefits of a birthing center, and information on the specific services we offer.

Your involvement makes CB&FC a success! Your tax-deductible donation provides pregnancy and early childhood service and care for families in our community. We would love your help.

If you'd like to obtain driving directions to the Center, or if at any time you have questions, just click on the "Contact Us" button. Thank you for visiting Community Birth & Family Center.
